I know this is last minute but maybe for future reference. How should an owner go about exchanging within resort to different unit. Isco does not accept same week exchanges at same resort. We love our week #45 - 8th floor lobby bldg villa, but this year (1 week away) we are taking our parents and have some mobility issues. A ground Floor walk out would better suit us for this trip.

I would try talking to the resort directly and explain the situation. Thats really the only way to get a different unit in a specific location.

Tried that

I tried that, Their reply was to go through isco (of course) which is not an option as I said in 1st post, isco does not accept same resort/same week exchanges. It would be different I would guess if I had exchanged into the Islander and was requesting a different unit. But they don't really have any exchanging power with mine on such short notice, if they would give me a different unit upon requesting at check-in, what would the new unit/owner get in return for me using their villa? Maybe I have answered my own question!

I wonder if you could talk to someone hanging out on their ground flloor patio and ask them if they'd like to trade. I'm sure the 8th floor views are MUCH better. I'd make sure to talk to the front desk so that they could straighten out the charges.

You may have to wait until check in to make the request. At that time maybe the resort will have a ground floor unit that they may be able to assign to you.

I'd try again and nicely ask to speak to a supervisor.

I agree, a supervisor might be the only person who can get around their policies.

Regardless of their rules, it'll still depend on whether someone has deposited a ground floor unit with them. Your chances may be increased if you ask for any of the other Royals as well as the Islander.
