Renourishment

I think you mean beach replenishment. Re-nourishment in Cancun is when you go back to the bar for seconds. ;)

I just checked the webcam, and you can see the live work going on now! How exciting!

Nana7 - is it loud? I mean is the procee bothersome to you since you are there now?

Ok Dustijam, I will agree with you on the hydration aspect of laying by the beach but when we were at Longboat Key last year the term they use is called "beach renourishment". :D
It was going on before our eyes and as to if it's noisy, YES it is. The big Cat tractors are are loud and you know be "beeping" noise when they back up etc. The payoff is worth it though. What I love about this "renourishment" is it is happening and fast by what they are reporting and Longboat Key's work seemes to take forever and isn't done yet. I know there were the hurricaine's but I am impressed with the work in Cancun. Here's a link to the project in Longboat if your interested: http://www.longboatkey.org/

I am on the 7th floor of the Royal Mayan and can't hear a thing.. But the bulldozer makes noice and it is blocked off so you can't get to close. As you
watch you can see why it is so slow. The tub looks big but the water and sand come out together.....a long slow job.

The only negative that I can see: A lot more shells have come in than usual and this breaks them up. This is the first time I have seen sand dollars. There seem to be a lot of them but most are broken. This does not keep you from ''searching'' the beach early mornings.

Does anyone know when they will be finished pumping the sand onto the beach?

Going in May and targeting the Royals.

I am doing a exchange request for a few of the Royal resorts, namely the Sand, Mayan, Islander plus the Avalon Grand. We are planning on going in May. Will any of these resorts be missing a beach by then assuming no early hurricanes come rolling through.

TODAY, THURSDAY, FEB. 23: the sand was pumped in front of the Islander, tomarrow the Carribbean , and expect to be at the Royal Mayon on Sat.
It goes much faster than I thought.
