In the latest update I see that HGVC will use “room seals” to assure us no one has entered since it was cleaned.

Perhaps some people will find this reassuring. It seems a little silly to me.

Thoughts?

Its not bad, but i am not sure how solid this really is. I see them on some doors and storage on planes, but they often like they get reused which defeats the purpose.

overall its not something I dislike, just not sure that it adds that much. Will see how i feel once i start traveling again.

@dayooper They are only offering the balcony shark tier in the sales offices. But there has been a rise in shark attacks so sales offices are closed until further notice. ;)

I’ve heard you can still get a balcony shark if you are elite premier, but it will cost you an arm and a leg.

I will bet the room seals make it harder changing rooms once you get into a room and something is wrong.

I've seen how easy it is to bypass these undetectably in any number of spy movies. Nope, not trusting this one... :)

Cheers.

Just another 'feel good' item that makes management feel like they're doing something. Unlikely to have much- if any- effect. I can see it now. The maids will have a roll of Scotch Tape 'seals' so if a guest wants to move, they'll charge beaucoup bucks to 'sanitize' and put another piece of tape on the door.

As long as the seal doesn't look like these below, I am good to go!

I think I'd like a room penguin instead of a seal.

I wonder if they will add Seal-y mattresses to coordinate with that front door decor?

I'm a little more daring and trusting so I don't really care about the seal. However my significant other was never trusting even pre-COVID. She will do the normal, wash all the dining ware, put bed bug proof pillow case and mattress cover, and sanitize the table and counters. I am sure she will go DEFCON 1, by sanitizing the couch, the carpet, the door knobs, etc, with freebreze sanitizer. I can see the first night just cleaning/sanitizing the room. As I think about it, that might night be a bad idea.
