Room# requests at Maui Ocean Club

Done a search of room requests here, but still am unclear on requesting rooms.
I am just closing on my first Marriott ts at Marriott Maui Ocean Club (old towers). Other than requesting a specific tower (ie Molakai) or a higher floor, being an owner, are they pretty accomodating to requesting specific room numbers or ranges of room numbers? My first use is 2012, and I have the seller already booked a May week for me. When should I phone in and make a tower/floor/room request?

I've had success with other properties (Ko Olina) calling as I get closer to check-in (4 weeks from check-in?) as this is when they do the room assignments. I know they'll try to accomodate building and floor, but I've never heard of someone having success with a specific room number.

I'll send you the room map, which may be helpful, for your info.

Congrats on owning MOC, it's a great property!
