Week #39 9-26-15 thru 10-3-15

Once again we stayed at our favorite property. First few days we had rain, all night on Monday. The grounds were very nice and while we were there a Commercial Tree Trimming Company came in and trimmed the whole drive, beach and bay side. The property is very well maintained and check in is simple and quick, thanks to Scott. The nice thing about being here is that you are never bothered by anyone making a sales pitch. You are allowed to enjoy yourself without intrusion but they are always ready to assist if you need something. I met the new head of House Cleaning but didn’t get to meet the new Mgr. Scott will be who you will contact and he does a great job of day to day running the Little Gull. There is a meet and greet on Monday’s in Rec room behind the Office. I went this year and talked to friends. The first Sunday we had a party down by the beach with a few owners and a couple of renters. This is a very friendly place but also very quiet and peaceful. There are no scheduled activities here other than the meet and greet on Monday and we like that. Our unit was very clean and we had all the towels we needed. There is a towel exchange on Wed. morning to get clean towels. There is also a laundry on property near the pool bay side. As stated in previous reviews, our unit is #15 bay side near the office. It’s a 2 bed/2 bath with a very big porch. Parking is under unit and covered. This something we like a lot. The walk to the beach has never been a problem, it’s a nice stroll. If you have a lot of beach gear you can drive over and use guest space if available or use carts like I have seen people use. There are plenty of nice chairs and lounge chairs on beach for guests. Also, there are two chickee huts with a table and chairs for shady beach sitting. This year 14 out of 16 units were occupied, and it was quiet as ever. We walked over to the Blue Dolphin for breakfast four mornings. We really like it there. We tried Long Beach Café in Whitney Plaza, and liked it also. For a layout of the property look at the link above or refer back to my 2014 review. In that review I mention how units are laid out. Basically, 8 units on Gulf side and 8 units bay side. Pool and office bayside. There is also a dock bay side for fishing. Saw it used a bunch this year by a few people and they were catching.
We always visit Anna Maria Island (Town) and ate this year at the City Pier. The Rod and Reel Pier had no parking so we went to City Pier instead. Glad we did. Duffy’s was closed this year but had a great hamburger at The Cortez Kitchen. We also ate at The Anna Maria Oyster Bar
(Cortez Road) and Millers Dutch Kitchen on 41. For lunch one day, we went back to the Thai Palace (Go every year) it’s also on Cortez Road.
