Hello,
We recently returned from another beautiful week at Ocean Pointe.
We had 3 wonderful dinners at Sailfish Marina. The "Sailfish Sampler" was excellent: 1/2 lobster tail, shrimp, scallops, dolphin and a crab cake. Pan seared grouper was also very good. All 3 nights we managed to get a table by the window overlooking the intracoastal. Beautiful! The only thing that was weird was that on one of the nights they ran out of "glass" wine glasses & served the wine in a plastic glass. Fortunately, I had kept my "glass" glass from earlier in the evening...I still had it when I ordered a 2nd glass of wine.
Carmines was also excellent: Mussels & clam appetizers in garlic wine sauce...so good! Lobster Ravioli and Sea Bass (which was not on the menu but I asked if they could pan sear it & they did.) The green salad was wonderful with a lemon vinaigrette.
We also went to 3800 Ocean (formerly Solu) at Marriott Singer Island Resort and Spa. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. The pan seared grouper was very oily, overcooked and unappetizing. The seafood pasta was flavorless....shrimp overcooked & "rubbery" and oily herbed sauce. Service was abrupt.
We did not make it to Bonefish Grill but people we met at the pool told us that they had a wonderful dinner there.
How about you? Any restaurants you would recommend near Ocean Pointe?
