We are staying one night at the Tropicana Hotel on Los Murelos beach in the Romantic Zone prior to our timeshare stay at the Grand Mayan NV. I believe this is very close to La Palapa - a highly recommended restaurant. How expensive is dining here - since there are NO prices on the menu on the website.

Does anyone have an suggestions on very good, but a more moderate proced restaurant in the area? Seafood or local Mexican type food would be preferred.

Also, any suggestion for a moderate restaurant in the Marina hotel area would also be appreciated - as we are staying an extra night at the end. This is what we had to do to get the FF tickets :cheer:

Thanks again, Joyce.

La Palapa has great food but is on the expensive side.it sits on the beach. Cafe D'Ola is great for Mexican and very reasonable. Maxamillian's is also in that area and is wonderful but also expensive.

We like Oscars down by the "river" Great food, moderate prices. In the Marina, I would suggest Victor's. very reasonable, good food.

Thank you both for the suggestions.

I would not worry about finding a restaurant in the Romantic Zone. there are dozens of great places. If you want to limit your search, just walk up and down Basilio Badilla street - where Cafe Olla is and see what strikes your fancy and pocketbook.

Victors is OK in the Marina. Again, your best bet is to walk around; it is very concentrated.
