They are claiming it has nothing to do with the current removal of 'offensive-to-some' brand or mascot. But Dolly, while cute, doesn't quite evoke a desire for a chicken sammich. I'll head for Popeyes or even Chic-Fil-A, thanks.

I didn't realize that they were still open, lol. Talk about a relic!

One of my favorites as a kid. Every Friday night the family would go there for dinner. Combo plate and my sister and I would split a milkshake. Haven't been to one, or even seen one, in years.

Although we lived closed to the original Bob's Big Boy in Glendale we'd go to the one in Montrose, CA which was closer for us.

This was THE hangout place to cruise when I was in high school, just like American Graffitti. It was Frischs Big Boy, still there but they got rid of the drive up park and order spaces and servers on roller skates.

I have not seen a Big Boy restaurant in the Tidewater Va area in decades.

Big Boy was the only place we went to when we were kids. My MOM refused to go to McDonalds or Burger King. Loved their chocolate shakes.

McDonalds and Burger King didn't even exist when I was a kid. Well I take that back. McDonalds was founded in 1955 in San Bernadino, CA (another California company) but I don't think there was one near us. Besides, it wouldn't have been the kind of place we would go as a family for dinner. And yes, BBB shakes were great. More like eating ice cream.
