Hello! We are heading to Oceana Palms for our sons’ 14th birthday. Any recommendations for restaurants or fun things to do? It’s our first time to the coast of Florida. I see there are thunderstorms most days of our trip…is this normal In June? Will they pass over like in Hawaii, or are we heading into bad weather? Thanks so much for any tips!

We are entering rainy season in Florida, which usually means afternoon thunderstorms. So this is normal. Sometimes they last an hour or two or sometimes they last through the night. You will usually wake up again to sunny skies. Also, it may not rain right where you are at, but somewhere else nearby will get rain.

What are some good restaurants near the resort and when is shoulder season in West Palms?

Thanks for this info….guess I should have done more research….I was thinking Florida wasn’t good during hurricane season September-December, but was sunny the rest of the year.
Any restaurant recommendations?

Hurricane season is actually June through November, although August through September into October is the most active part of the season. The first tropical storm of the season, Arlene, just fizzled out in the Gulf of Mexico.

We like December through March for our Orlando visits.
