We are currently at a winter resort by a lake in the woods about 10 miles from a fair sized town. The resort has a hotel which by the number of cars in the parking lot is fairly busy. There are also 5 condo buildings set back from the hotel which are virtually empty. We are the only unit occupied in our building. Our so called high speed internet is almost non existent. The front desk made the usual response... it must be our devices. We are here with a Surface tablet, an Apple IPad Air and LG4 and IPhone 6 smart phones. What could be going on? Older version router? We are not competing with a multitude of devices. Are we being throttled up on the hill to service the hotel? I find access varies. Often we can't even load popular web sites let alone upload photos to Facebook or attach them to emails. It's been a frustrating three days so far.

Meant to add reception is by satellite/dish and our 50 TV channels are coming in clear and consistent.

When I stayed at same resort, it was in summer months, don't remember a problem with Internet, we only stayed a few days, seems nice place to relax, unless this is a working vacation enjoy the quiet. When we stayed it was noisy, kids running all over, middle of summer!

the responses you got from staff indicate you aren't talking to the right staff yet. Tell them you want to talk to tech support. Could be a simple reboot of router will happy everything up. Don't give up, go badger them some more, as you know it won't be solved if you don't make a pest of yourself, as already, they are blaming your equipment. They either don't believe you or don't care.

For sure the front desk staff just deliver canned responses to WiFi issues. Four days in and its no better. I've switched our smart phones to our service providers extended coverage in this wilderness area. Its not blazing fast but better than the WiFi here. Just have to watch data usage. Tough to read on-line books though!
