The worst part about doing the resort credit is having to see the concierge. First for some reason I had a personal concierge so had to wait until she was done with another guest. Then they really try to force an update. Apparently, if I don’t go now I will not understand the new system. I politely declined 3 times. The offer was 30k Bonvoy points at Nanea.

Not that it’s a huge deal but I am pretty sure she gave us the non owners bag (probably because we wouldn’t do the update) or the owners bag has gone way down in quality!

We are owners and did the update. Plain black bag. Same points offered. Took the Sunset Sail, supposedly a $250 value but glad I wasn't paying.

They didn’t offer a sunset cruise. I might have attended. 30k bonvoy points doesn’t get you much these days.

I was only offered $150 in visa gift cards at WKORV. No real pressure to do the update. No points or other offers were on the table.

I declined since I had just gotten $200 at SDO a couple of months prior and that was my BATNA (someone in the hot tub also said that they were offered $200 - so I was holding out for that amount).

And yes - the gift bag was kinda lousy. :(

I don't think they offered it me until I asked about it, just the Bonvoy points or resort credit ($150). My wife says it's time they brought some fresh marketing ideas onboard as the bags are getting a bit monotonous.

I almost missed knowing that I had to go to the concierge as it was the first day of the computer migration at WKORV (insane!) - luckily I did and got the credit prior to checkout.

Hint for getting out of update - state that your spouse refuses to attend.

Robin still uses the canvas bag we got in 2006 - all downhill from there.
