I'm contemplating the purchase of an oceanfront unit at the surf club in Aruba. Since there aren't that many units that are oceanfront, I was wondering how hard it would be to actually reserve a week in February each year. I realize you have to call at 9 a.m., but wondering if I would be constantly shut out if I only own 1 week.

I’m not a Marriott owner but I recall reading threads about the difficulty of booking winter months in Aruba.

Here are some old threads that I found.

You might be better off renting a Redweek if you don’t have date flexibility.

i just returned from Aruba Ocean Club a few days ago. It was getting very crowded a couple days before we left, and this is gold season. The Surf Club was insane the entire time! Even the ocean in front of it was packed! You're talking about peak season, with a couple of weeks the are platinum plus, so I'm guessing the 12-month window will make it tough to get February, unless you buy February.

Are you wanting Surf Club and February because of kids? There are units close to the front with great views, unless your heart is set on oceanfront. You might want to consider early May to go as soon as school is out.

Thank you so much for your replies. Maybe renting is a better idea.
