Had a few questions....
- what building would you request/hope for there? Last time we were there, they were building the main OF view building....we were thinking of requesting that building, high floor for our OF DC stay...
- are the pools heated? We know ocean water wont be warm enough to swim in, but hope outdoor pools will be :(.
- any must dos for a stay there or in terms of activities offered? It's been awhile since we were there last...
- how is activities staff at this resort now? Can we rent bikes, what is relationship like between Marriott hotel next door and this MVC resort?
-will we be asked to do sales presentation? Active sales staff, we should assume?
Any recent intel re MOW would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Vicki

I was in Myrtle last weekend - the ocean water was the same there then as Southern California beaches are in the height of summer. If the air is 80, you'll be able to swim in the ocean.

Heated pools

Yes, all the pools at Oceanwatch are heated. The 2 main pools in front, as well as the Woodsey Pool near the Maple and Pine buildings. If memory serves me right, the pools are heated to 85 degrees 365/days/year.

Don't forget the two outdoor hot tubs in front of the Scallop and Conch buildings.

Starfish building is the main building where you check in. It is positioned parallel to the beach. It it set back further than the other oceanfront villas, however it overlooks the pool area.

Scallop and Conch buildings are twin buildings that run perpendicular to the beach. Each of the (8?) floors on these buildings has one Oceanfront unit. These units overlook the grill area and a grassy area and the walkway to the beach. That is only a factor in maybe the bottom 2 floors. Nice wide balconies on these units! (I'm jealous! lol). No pool area to overlook, just a beautiful view of the beach.

*The other units in Scallop and Conch are considered "Oceanside"

We were there a few years ago and stayed in the building that runs perpendicular to the ocean on the left if you are standing with your back to the ocean. We were in either the very top floor on maybe the next one down. Anyway for some reason the balconies had no coverage. Maybe it was the top floor. Anyway we were there in September and had really no use of the balconies at all. THe sun shown directly down and with no cover it was unbearably hot on the balconies except for very early in the morning and after sunset.

Thanks much for replies!

Will be great to see this resort again (has been 6 or more years since last stay there).... Thanks again for info all!
