Reservation Crossing End of Use Year

My use year ends December 31. I was attempting to book a reservation from 12/31/24 - 1/4/25.

I do not have any remaining housekeeping credits for 2024, so I have to purchase. I understand that. However on the "Complete Booking" page where I would pay for this, at the top under Membership Charges for Points it says : 'Available Points - Next Use Year'

Any reservation I make that doesn't cross over into 2025 says 'Available Points - Current Use Year'.

It was my understanding that the use year is when the reservation starts, so shouldn't this reservation be using current use year points, which is what I am needing to use.

I don't see any details in the Directory about Use Years and reservations crossing over from one year to the next.

I asked this exact same question here a year or two ago. The entire points will come from the use year of the first night of the reservation. I did actually do this in 2023. I made a 6 night reservation beginning on 12/30 and all the points came from my 2023 use year.

I concur, have done this many times over the last 15 years.

Yes it should all come from the use year at the start of the reservation. Not only that but if you modify to add nights at the end of the stay after the initial reservation it will still come from the current use year as I've recently done this to use up remaining points
