Does anyone know how long it take to get a refund (i.e. credit back on you card) once you rescind? I rescinded about a week ago but wanted to know just how long they take since it when onto my credit card!!!

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about rescinds with Starwood specifically, but credits usually take a few weeks to hit.

If you're worried about the bill being due, call the 800 number on the back of your credit card and talk to a CSR. Tell them that you've rescinded and are waiting for a credit. They will issue a temporary credit which will tide you over until the next billing cycle. That way you can avoid any finance charges/late fees.

You can also do this online with a lot of cc companies (e.g. AMEX).

If you haven't received confirmation that you've rescinded, I'd do that as well.

It takes 28 days, I think. Your paperwork wil specifically state the terms for the refund. The one time we recinded, it took almost the entire time period before the refund was posted.

A few years back when we rescinded - we got our money back on our credit card in about a week.

I own a credit card processing company. If you happen not to get your credit by the time that you next credit card bill is due, you need only to call your credit card issuer and ask that they "chargeback" the purchase. This will prevent you from having to pay for the charge or from having to pay interest on it.

We purchased a timeshare from Wyndham and after finding the Tug BBS, we rescinded within the allotted time. Thanks to the great information we got from so many wonderful people here! However, it did take at least six weeks to get our credit back to our credit card. I had to call Wyndham and my credit card company at least a few times during that period. Although we finally got our money back, we never received our promised gift certficate that was suppose to come via mail. Oh well....at least that is all we lost!:)

Sorry I am new to these boards and I did not notice you were asking specifically Starwood.
