Hi! We sent in our letter, certified and one also standard mail within the stated time frame. I have photos of both date stamped and tracking on the certified. "You may cancel your contract within 10 days after the date you signed the contract.....you must notify in writing .....cancellation shall be effective upon the date sent.." We signed 6/22 , so clock started 6/23 - certified letter and regular letter sent 6/27. Per tracking certified was received and left with an individual on 7/2/26. We asked for confirmation of cancellation in writing but also provided our email addresses. With the holiday, I am expecting a little delay but am wondering what others experiences have been regarding their cancellation confirmation response time.
If we have not heard anything by 7/15, I was going to Fed ex all the copies of everything and the detailed information confirming when they received the documents---but hope I do not have to do that.

Also, we have a "welcome" follow up call on 7/10---would you mention the rescinding? I was planning on it but wonder what others would do.

Thank you!

I would not take the call - what is the point? If they contact you, it will be to talk you out of rescinding - don't put yourself in that position. Historically, you will not hear anything from HGV until the refund hits your credit card, and that can take 30 days.

You have proof of sending the rescission letter and proof that it was received (although proof of receipt is surplus).

The right of rescission is statutory. Timeshare companies may lie to prospective customers six ways from Sunday but they don't mess with statutory requirements. Relax. Be patient.

Thanks Jim....LOL..I will tell my husband the be patient part :)

They are under no obligation to provide status updates or confirmation in writing. Their only obligation is to cancel the contract and refund any payments.

In most cases one will never know that it has been cancelled until you receive the down payment back.
