We signed on Sunday for a Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare with a 5 day rescission period, excluding Sundays. Letter was sent certified with return receipt requested this morning (Thursday).
We love the property but parking is an issue and after more thought it’s just a lot of money for what we really get.
Question- should we call our credit card company to dispute the charge as well? Does anyone have any thoughts on that?
Thanks & I will definitely be checking out the resales!

As long as you completed the paperwork properly, you don’t have to contact the cc company. You will get the refund. Congratulations on coming to your senses in time!

Hilton is one of the resale-friendly companies out there, so please do your research here, and then, if you're still interested, find an Ocean Oak week via resale (if you need high summer weeks) or a week in Las Vegas (where MF are cheaper) if you don't need high summer, and would be interested in traveling to HHI in the shoulder seasons (which are my favorite, anyway.)

No need to dispute the charge with your card company. Too often, too many people do this as the first step to remedy a charge. You are supposed to first try and remedy directly with the merchant first. If that doesn't work, then the dispute route is the last option. Chargebacks have an actual dollar cost to the merchant. Insignificant for a company like HGVC, but can be a lot of money for small vendors.

Congratulations, definitely the correct decision. Agree with the previous posters so will not restate. Honestly, we love HGVC and love Ocean Oak. We go there twice/year. Ocean Oak is very popular but still bookable during club season. Ocean Oak resale is out there (was able to pick of ocean front, annual, platinum season earlier this year) but some are hard to get. You are welcome to PM me if you like to further discuss or post questions in the HGVC forum. We have some knowledgable and wonderful members willing to help.

All good points. Thanks!

I will likely contact you once our cancellation is processed. Thanks!

Mind sharing the timeshare purchase price? As half of us initially bought retail timeshares, there is no shame.

I'm glad I found this site. I thought Hilton was hard to buy on the secondary market. Do you know where on the site I can find info for brands easier to work with? I am interested in properties in Hawaii, California, and Colorado.

I’m also happy you rescinded.
To the OP. Welcome to the TUG.
