Hi All,
Let me get this straight. I have a 2bdr week 22 at Cliffs of Peace canyon since 2001. If I buy a resort with RCI points I can convert my Cliffs to 61500 RCI Points for 26 bucks.
Wow, we attended a GrandView, another Vacation Village resort for a TS meeting this week, we had a 3 night stay as VIP. (Another word for suckers) The deal was we buy a 1 bdrm biannual for 9500 and they convert out Cliffs to points for FREE. This way we get 61500/yr and 4900/bi year for MF of about $840. Sounded good at the time. So we closed and the deal was same as you described above no conversion just a points account that we can use. When I sell the cliffs it is still a week's resort. They lied to us, I was counting on a full conversion.
That was Tuesday on Wednesday afternoon we started to get cold feet something did not feel right. We decided to rescind I had asked during the presentation what the rescission period was 5 days in Nevada. It caught them off guard since they never mention rescission during a presentation. So we drove back to South Point Casino and wrote the letter on the computer. Then we walked across the street to GrandView computer room and printed 3 copies of it. Then off to the bank to sign letters in front of a notary, just in case Vacation Village wanted to contest the rescission, we could stop payment on our credit card. Then we were off to The post office to mail via certified mail. We were now done, total cost $6.75 for mail.
I must admit I felt bad at first but shrugged it off as just a business deal. Then I find out that they tricked us and lied. I think they may call us next week and I will tell them they lied and I will buy for TS with points for a dollar.
I am just glad i rescinded before we left Vegas as it would be too late now to do it. When in doubt always rescind. You can always go back to buy.
Thanks,
JoeG
