oK...here we go - again. We just ‘traded’ our 400,000 pts in CWA and added 126,000 pts in a deeded property at Grand Desert for $27,500. Was this a wise move? The agent told us that the new program, Blue Thread, would offer us much more flexibility in booking, as there are many more properties available. He said that our membership in CWA was redundant and that the deeded property was more valuable in the long run. This was yesterday. I think we could still remind if this was truly an unwise purchase. Help!!!

Yes rescind please. $27.5k is a lot of vacations and MFs. You can sell your CWA and buy Grand Desert in the resale market costing you maybe $2k to $5k. So you save around $20k or more.

Rescind.

You have doubts, so that's a good thing. Think about this:

There is nothing they sold you that can't be bought again. If you have any doubts, and want to save yourself a FORTUNE in unnecessary spending, then Yes, RESCIND IMMEDIATELY! Timeshare sales people are notorious for saying anything and everything to make a sale, preying on your emotions. They know that by the time most people figure out they've been taken for a ride, it'll be too late to get out of the purchase. If you rescind now, you can research things and make a smart choice about how to spend your money. If their sale was a good one, you can ALWAYS buy it again. If not, you'll have saved a fortune.

While you're thinking about it, ask yourself this: How much vacationing could you buy for $27,500, even if you paid full retail every trip, for how many years?

My strongest opinion: Rescind now, while you still can.

Good luck!
Dave

Rescind.

Full-freight timeshares aren't worth the exorbitant extra cost over resale.

That goes for Wyndham VIP along with all the others.

Buy timeshares resale. Save thousands.

First, believing what you were told by the salesperson is not a good idea. He is motivated to make the sale. He is not your friend. He is not looking out for you. He probably could care less about you as a person or a current owner.

Rescind now while you still can and research. That "deal" is available in the future. Were you already in the market for this product before attending that presentation? They wouldn't turn you down if you came back later. However, you won't if you take the time to look at what's available out there on the resale market. You will realize that you just overpaid big time. Yikes! We're glad you came to TUG to check your sanity on this purchase. It's not too late, but it soon will be. Today, get your papers in order and mail your rescind letter tomorrow. These opportunities, whether from the developer or resale, will be out there awaiting you. You're not missing out on anything that will be out there today, tomorrow or well into the long-distance future.

I think you already knew the answer when you posted; you just needed confirmation. Confirmed. Rescind.

Confused. On Friday you posted the same question but with a purchase price of $28,000. You also said you had until the next day to rescind. You were told by multiple persons to rescind.

Today you post the same question but with a purchase price of $27,500. Not surprisingly, you got the same advice to rescind.

Did you go back to the sales person to tell them you wanted to rescind and they “sweetened” their original offer by $500? All this remains a bad deal. As kukenan posted you could sell your CWA and purchase Grand Desert for a max of $5K. Whether your price is $28,000 or $27,500 you are still over paying by at least $21,000.
