Thinking about buying a marriott ts. Read the FAQs and am confused about trading with a resale. Do I have any advantage trying to trade in to another marriott property over the average II member? Is II the only method of exchange for those that bought via resale?

II doesn't care how you bought your TS and all Marriott owners are treated the same by II.
All Marriott owners ( no matter how they bought their TS) trade almost all the time within II. But some owners also trade with the independant exchange companies ( like SFX, trading places, DAE, redweek or ownertrades)

What Marriotts are you looking towards - with a possibility of buying? I am waiting to close on my first TS (Marriott - Hilton Head) this month, and have been learning a lot in the past couple months! Goodluck....

Yes, you'll have the Marriott 24-day internal exchange priority when exchanging your Marriott weeki for another Marriott week through II. See this link from the FAQs for this forum for more info.
Trading a Marriott resale through II is currently the same as trading a Marriott purchased from Marriott. No disadvantage.
