I was sent here by a group that sells timeshares for clients - even though I am trying to sell a vacation/travel club membership. Does anyone have any information or advice on this issue? (I couldn't find any vacation/travel club forums on Google and am having no luck on Craigslist). Thanks much.

Unfortunately, vacation clubs have no resale value. To be quite honest with you, you will be lucky to give it away, and then, only if it's completely paid off.

I'm not sure who sent you, but here is the rule of thumb for people who promise to sell your vacation club or timeshare:

NEVER pay an upfront fee, no matter what they call it - legitimate brokers charge their fees out of the proceeds of the sale.

If you have paid someone a fee, you should dispute it with your credit card immediately.

Thanks for your input, Denise; hope you are wrong but suspect you are right. I'm pretty sure this membership would be a benefit for frequent vacationers - just not for me since I don't vacation often. It was just a bad decision in my case.

Someone added Shell to your title. If you do own Shell, at this time, those contracts are selling for $1. and many contracts just never sell. You can search on Ebay and see what I mean. Type in Shell Vacation Club in your search. I bought 2 there for $1. each and that included the transfer cost. Once in a while, you'll see one listed for a lot more money. Nobody buys them.

Just a friendly warning: it's when owners of worthless vacation clubs and TSs take this kind of attitude that they become victims of the infamous upfront fee resale scams. Owners hold on to this faint hope that there just might be someone else out there who was unwise enough to pay tens of thousands of dollars for this VC/TS. Then the scammers swoop in and tell the owners that they have found a buyer or represent some corporations that are anxious to pay such a hefty sum for such a product but then require some sort of upfront fee or tax to get the sale through.

This is the title - no "Shell" -
