In a different thread, Pwrshift says..
"I suspect II gives more attention to Request First deposits as they don't get them until they place you."

What is the relative value of a week deposited early (Deposit First) vs Request First? (We have been using deposit first in order to trade into weeks past the check-in date of our own week, but for more immediate trades, what is the best course of action?)

Is there any difference if the week we want is Marriott or not-Marriott?

This may have been discussed before - we would appreciate reference to earlier discussion in that case.

Thank you in advance!

I think the key is whether you have holiday flexibility. I seldom go anywhere in the summer as it's perfect weather in Toronto, but winter is another matter. So I deposit first all the time and haven't been disappointed - and you get a bonus week certificate in many cases. However, if you book a home resort week you would be happy using if one didn't come through, you have to use Request First to make sure you're not out in the cold if nothing comes through.
