what are your thoughts on the best check-in day for a 2016 w52 rental. Next year, Christmas and New Year fall on a Sunday and I'd presume guests would prefer not to travel on Christmas day and have to check out by 10am on January 1st, so I think a Saturday check-in would be best?

Saturday is always the most popular check-in day.

I've booked Sa-Sa 24-31, and my plan is to add 1/1 as bonus time if it is available. I don't mind 10 AM c/o on NYD, I'm giddy that I may be able to capture XMas and NYE in the same vacation!

Doesn't week 53 sometimes go to developer?

I'm struggling to figure out when to book also. I own 2 Marriott fixed week 52s. I haven't talked to Marriott yet, but for the purpose of discussion, I thought week 53 often goes to the developer. Yes? And if it goes to the developer, then which is better, Dec 24 to Dec 31, or Dec 25 to Jan 1?

Do you own a fixed week 52 or an event week 52. For a fixed week you wouldn't have a choice it will be week 52. If it is an event week you need to look at the 2016 calendar to see which week you can book.

Different developers handle week 52 differently.

Saturday to Saturday is always popular with travelers. For a fly to location I think 24-31 would be more popular. For a drive to location, I might think 25-1 would be more popular but it;s always just a guess.

I own a Week 52 (Friday start) unit at Quarter House in New Orleans, which probably has more event weeks than most cities.

Week 52 is Sugar Bowl so in 2016, Week 53 precedes Week 52 on Quarter House's calendar! I can get Week 53 for another maintenance fee which would allow check in Friday, 12/23; check out 1/6/2017.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll go with a Saturday check-in (12/24-31). Christmas day travel could be a turnoff and many families will need to get back to work/school on Monday 1/3 so a Saturday flight home will be more appealing.

I like this idea. I wonder if it attract more renters.:ponder:
