Does anyone know how easy it would be to get a developer week booked in March or April and rent it out at one of the Coral resorts on Hilton Head Island? It comes with free golf. Also, are there a lot of companies in that area that rent out condos? Thanks. Debby

If you go through an agency to rent your timeshare, they will take a healthy cut. You will make more if you rent it yourself, and it's not that hard. For lots of info. about how to rent your timeshare, see the article posted at the top of the Buying, Selling, Renting Board. - How to Rent Your Timeshare

The week before or after Easter is usually a strong spring rental, but it's probably too late to reserve an Easter week for 2009. I bet summer would be a stronger rental.

I agree. Unless it's a week that is a spring vacation week or the week of the Heritage golf tournmament on Hilton Head, you may have difficulty finding a renter in March or April.

March & April

Just a quick comment:

While I agree that summer on HHI is easier to rent than March or April, March is busy there, as evidenced by our condo being fully booked for the last 2 years (07 & 08) in March, and almost (1 week available) fully booked in April. We'll see what happens this year, as the economy is weaker now. Also, March rents for more than April or May, go figure. This isn't just my experience; look at the VRBO.com (vacation rental by owner) website and check out the rental rates for the different months to decipher demand.

BTW, this may be a good way to have a sanity check before buying timeshare weeks anywhere. By looking at rental rates for local hotels and or VRBO.com, you may be able to get at least some insight into the demand and therefore an indication of trading power.
