Recently bought a diamond week at Coconut Plantation and reserved our deeded week. It is a 2 BR lockoff and we only need the 1 BR part this year. Is it permissible to rent the lockoff [studio] at the same time as when we will be in the ! BR part?

Yes, it's permitted to rent, but the Hyatt system is not set up to allow separate HRPP reservations for each part. You will need to call and ask about locking off.

**OR** just reserve your 2br and rent out the studio :>)

If you read thru threads folks have had issues getting the 2 reservations. You are within the rules to rent so you could just not worry about the separate reservations and ask them at checkin to do the keys separate.

I think that could work, and I was going to suggest that, but I was curious how that would work when his guest inevitably orders a bunch of food from the pool. Somehow, you'd have to call ahead of time to make sure they could split that up.

You can do separate credit cards for guests even when they are staying with you. Our guests like to be able to order at the pool and not worry about it so typically do that. It's not an issue

My experience at Sunset with lock-offs is that the front desk will not lock off a two (lock off capable) bedroom reservation. They said this can only be done at the time of reservation...which you need an exception for to split the unit. It's all stated in the HRC rules/regulation, which is the same for all of HRC I believe. I kept calling back, last time took 3 calls to finally get customer service to get an exception so I could split my lock off into two reservation, both in my name. (use a guest certificate for the other side)
