Renting Grande Vista

I just finished pricing a 2BR rental unit at MGV for three nights beginning 11/27 and found something interesting.

The Marriott website said that no rooms were available at MGV.
Cypress Harbour was available for $189/nt 2BR w/MOD.
Travelocity had the MGV 2BR units for 269/nt = $936 out the door.
gtahotels.com had the MGV 2BR units for $183/nt = $648 out the door.


I know Travelocity buys blocks of rooms and resells them, but GTA?? How can they sell rooms so cheap, especially when Marriott is sold out?

If I am not mistaken, Travelocity has a low price guarantee and will refund you the difference plus give you a $50 coupon for your next Travelocity visit.

Yes I confirmed that the units were indeed 2BR units at gta, as 1BRs were $148 and studios were $115. Yes I also know about the II getaways.

You can get a 2BR getaway week on II for check in Nov 28 for $569 or a 1BR for arrival Nov 27 for $739 and Nov 27 studio arrival for $549 for the full week.

As I stated above, "Yes I also know about the II getaways."

The reason for the thread is to find out if anyone knows how a company like GTA can offer rooms at such a disount when Marriott doesn't even show inventory, when I doubt seriously that GTA buys blocks of rooms like Travelocity and Expedia do. Also, I wanted to point out that one can book from a reputable company like Travelocity and then follow up with price matching - best of both worlds.
