we have 4 home resort weeks reserved during spring training at both SDO and WKV. we were going to stay there but we ended up buying a house there so my question is. do you think people will be looking for spring training rentals? will spring training even be a possibility? we can rent our house out for $4500 for the month of march and stay in the timeshares, or just rent the timeshares and maybe even get a little more than that. we are already renting our house jan and feb ( came with the purchase) so staying at timeshare an additional month is no big deal but thought the money could be much better renting timeshares.

The premium (large side) one bedroom at Kierland rents well; I get $2,350 and I suspect I am a bit under market. The deluxe (small side) is more problematic; I have seldom been able to rent it as a stnd-alone, but it sometimes gets taken as part of a two bedroom.

I have no experience renting SDO.

Of course, everyone's prior experiences may be irrelevant in the short term, given Covid-19. Be sure to have a written lease with a clear cancellation policy.

Don't you mean summer camp? Kidding aside, if I could definitively predict the trajectory of COVID, I could give you a better answer and make a bunch of $$ in the process.

Depends on how much you covet the potential extra money from the TS rentals if the potential $4500 house rental doesn't cover your MFs. I'd say renting 1 house to 1 renter for a month would be far less hassle than renting 4 timeshare weeks to 4 different renters.

i am thinking you are right. mine are large one bedrooms at kierland and getting 2k each would beat my expectations and then 1k for each of SDO would be nice but yes a hassle. i am thinking i will throw it out to my friends who will be much less of a hassle and see if anyone wants them. since i got them with SO i can always give them back at 61 days. if we stay in timeshare we have to move every week so kind of a hassle for us but doable

Just to note - I don't think you are allowed to rent SO reservations, except at your home resort...

I believe @lorenmd owns several weeks at WKV and SDO - so these would be considered booking using SO at the home resort.

That would make sense the - I did not see a list of owned resorts, so just issuing a word of caution.
