Hi.

So if I have an existing reservation for a 3 bedroom next summer at Lakeshore, am I able to rent that out to someone under my name?

I assume Redweek is the best place to do that?

Thanks!

Yes to the first question. Normally you add the renters as Guests to the reservation. That way they can check in without you being there. As for the place to list, you have multiple options. People will use Redweek as well as TUG. There are plenty of options but those are probably the most frequented. If you wanted, you could even list on eBay.

Just to clarify: the reservation is a unit that you own with a reservation made thru Marriott--not a unit exchanged thru II?

Also, there are several people here on TUG that rent for folks with less experience/time. I think Denise handles rentals for folks. You might pm her.

Thanks. Is it a violation of rules to get input on a particular week I want to rent in terms of a rental price?

Again, you might pm D. she is a mod and might be able to provide that kind of info. Beyond my pg.

And, yes, listing the unit, time, price etc... would probably be outside the rules. Sorry I can't help.

Read the sticky on rentals

Anyone new to renting needs to read the sticky on renting your units here in the forums. How do you set price? Look at Redweek.com to see the competition. I think you want to be in the bottom third. If you find ten ads, you can price for more than 3-4 of them if you have good dates. Price above 6-7 others and your phone never rings.

I usually go to Marriott.com to price the week with AAA or senior discount. Mybredweek.com ad will be 1/3 to 1/2 less than Marriott. I get excited when I find that Marriott is sold out for my Bew Years or Easter week.
