I want to rent out my timeshare at Marriott Grande Vista [dates deleted]. Just want to clarify the steps I take to secure the week.

1) Contact the resort 1 year in advance to secure the week in my name.
2) Advertise the week and get a renter (I realize it is much more involved in getting a renter etc.)
3) Once I secure a renter this is where I am stuck? Do I contact back the resort and get the resort accommodation certificate amended into the renters name?

Hope someone can help?

With Marriotts you contact Owner Services, not the resort, to reserve the dates you want. Single Weeks can be booked 12 months in advance. Once you've gotten a renter (leaving suggestions for that process to others more familiar with it) then you contact Owner Services to add your guest's name to the reservation. Marriott doesn't require anything resembling a Guest Certificate or charge a fee, and they'll reissue a new confirmation with the guest's name that you can forward to your guest.
