I am experienced renter who has rented out or rented many timeshares over the last 5 years. I am starting to get real concerned that a rental I did with a Wyndham owner might not be valid.

Is there any way to validate a Fairfield confirmation email as a renter?

Any recent you think the landlord did not make a validate reservation? Did you have a contract or just a eMail confirmation? And from whom the eMail?

FF can send the landlord a GC if so desired, and you can have the landlord fax or mail you or send you a copy of the GC. And you should be able to call resort and FF's number on that GC to confirm it.

You should get a reservation confirmation directly to your address from WYN, if a GC was issued in your name.

The GC is not mailed to the guest if it is entered online rather than calling a VC. I've hit this problem in the past. I usually download the GC from the website and e-mail it as a PDF so the renter has one whether they get one mailed from Wyndham or not.

Resorts sometimes keep the reservation under the owner's name even if there is a GC. The renter should have at least the reservation number when making inquiries with the resort.

I made a reservation online for a guest at the end of June 2008. Last week, my guest informed me she just received a letter directly from Wyndham confirming her reservation and guest certificate. Wyndham used to send the guest a letter at the same time as the owner. Apparently, there is now a month lag between the two.

I have an email confirmation but the name was incorrect on the reservation. Several months later I am still waiting for a corrected confirmation. The confirmation also seems weird as their does not appear to be any confirmation numbers on it just the confirmed name.

Honestly, the renter is very slow to communicate and I am a little bit worried at this point as I am renting 2 units and will have friends with me on this trip.

This does not sound good. Before continue, what resort is this? Wyndham owns a lot of variety of resort, and if it is point resort, the landlord is point owner, it will definitely has confirmation number. But for some old resort(s), the owner could be week owner, and they will not issue and GC. So you should have a contract (actually, you should call the resort to verify the landlord is the owner of the week before you pay if that is the case).

There is one possibity, the owner rent you an exchange, if that is the case, then it will be very unfortuantely event.

I will call landlord first to see what happen and see if there is any issue, than I will call the resort immediatedly to check if the error name is recorded to use the week at this moment. If so, hopefully, you can correct it. I certainly hope you have a contract on hand. If not, I will ask the landlord to be on 3 way in that call.
