Hello,
tried to look everywhere and there is no good information on tax implications of renting timeshares in Aruba.
I own several timeshares at both Marriott Aruba Ocean Club and Surf Club and I know there are many people renting their Aruba Timeshare through TUG marketplace, Redweek or any other sites.
my below questions all assume that the owner or person renting a timeshare is located in USA and all the rent is collected in USA.
1. is it required to file taxes in Aruba for any income/losses from renting timeshares?
2. for US tax filing is all the income from renting Aruba timeshares filed on Schedule E only? is there any other form because the timeshare is in Aruba???
3. if it is required to file and pay taxes in Aruba then would that amount be credited to my US tax return (the timeshare rental income part only I assume)
4. anybody knows any good, reasonably priced tax person for Aruba taxes
I used to rent few of my timeshares located in USA prior to owning Aruba timeshares and with those it was pretty straightforward, but I am confused on how all this changes if I rent my timeshare located in Aruba. there is no deed for Aruba timeshare only certificate of the fact that my name was entered into Shareholder Register (not sure what it really means).
any help with this would be appreciated from a qualified person or any other owner with experience.
also like to hear what other owners do when renting one of their Aruba timeshares
thank you
