Where would I be able to park a rental vehicle while staying at Grand Luxxe NV? I see there is a fee of $34 US for parking but wonder if it is convenient. I suspect a tram is involved but wonder if it might be more complicated than that.

I have a reservation for the Lux and have stayed at the Grand Mayan in the past. My reservation says it is $34 a week to valet park. So $34 for parking and then $2 to get your car and $2 to return your car for tips is what I expect. When we stayed at the Grand Mayan I would call the valet to get my car ready. Sometimes it was ready and sometimes we waited up to 30 minutes.

You probably don't need a rental car - unless you plan to explore beyond Puerto Vallarta / Nuevo Vallarta area.
Inbound transportation to the resort is free .

cabs are inexpensive. You could get to the PV Malecon & back by cab for about the price of the daily parking fee
Vidanta NV to NV Walmart for groceries is about $ 5 usd each way.

Vidanta NV has a very large and efficient resort run taxi stand. They give you a slip with the cab # in case you forget anything in the cab.
The PV cab company has a contract with Vidanta (so no Uber / Lyft outbound from Vidanta)
I believe the free inbound from the airport transportationi is also managed by an affiliate of the PV cab company.

Cab prices are by zone and regulated. You tell the Vidanta employee at the taxi stand where you are going and they can write the price on the slip of paper that has the cab #

PV / NV also has extensive bus and colectivo transportation. We have gone to Sayalito by public bus & taken the colectivos as well.
To access them you would walk the beach to the Vidanta owned Sea Garden resort property and ask the bell staff or front desk how to use.
There is also an OXXO nearby the SG for refreshments & snacks.
