Or are they one and the same?

Their websites and inventory seem identical.

VRI*ety currently contracts with Trading Places to handle their internal exchange system. The inventory available through VRI*ety includes everything available through the general Trading Places website, plus some deposits at VRI-managed resorts that are only available to VRI owners, not to the general timesharing public.

The VRI-only inventory includes some very desirable weeks, especially in New England and Southern California. But many of the VRI-only deposits get snatched up by ongoing searches, so they may not get posted online.

And they are now both owned by Interval.

Good point! I had forgotten that Interval acquired VRI and Trading Places. Good thing I like Interval, since I have a bunch of VRI-managed weeks.

I should point out that the Trading Places/VRI*ety exchange systems have considerably different rules than the II exchange system, even though they are owned by the same company.
