Due to covid I moved a March reservation I had booked for a renter to August, since I had set a strict cancellation. At 70+ days I took it upon myself to offer the renter through redweek full service a 50% refund if they let me know by a certain date so my points wouldn’t be restricted, after that date the offer to cancel would not be honored. We are well under the 60 day cancellation period for vistana canellations and After the specified date I originally gave for them to cancel when redweek contacted me to let me know the renter decided to take the 50% refund. I decided to take the 50% of the rental price and keep restricted options (win win for me). Redweek sent a digital check within a few hours and still took their 99 fee. I was surprised redweek cut the check so soon but will not be Using their full service again any time soon.

if you have any rentals with strict cancellations and are worried about resort closures, maybe offer half the fee and keep the week yourself.
