If you use Redweek, you probably know that they rolled out a new interface a few weeks ago, but you could still choose to use the old format if you wished.

Today, the link to the old format is gone, but the new format may be having some problems: I posted an Ad a few minutes ago, and my credit card was charged, but the Ad itself is still sitting in my "cart."

[Correction: I logged out and the link to the old format was there.]

When I tried to use the message function to get help - it's not working either.

I'm sure they will get it up to speed, but today might now be a good day to post Ads.

I am not having any issues (yet) with my 2 listings just placed (using new format).

Link to old format is still at the top of the page (for me).

Weird, I'm still seeing a working link to the "old" format. Maybe it's a phased roll out or something.

I used to see a link at the very top of the page, on the right - I don't see it today.

OK - I had to sign out to get it to come up - weird.

Using the old format, I was able to post the Ad, but I think I paid for it twice. I emailed Paypal - I'm sure they will straighten it out.

I never found the red week service to work for my rentals so no big deal there. But I do like to watch the timeshares for sale section and have found a few to buy in the past

If I can't use the old interface I'll stop using red week all together

Ron - I logged out, and the link came up, and I was able to log back in using it.

I have rented mostly all of my weeks using RW with no issue (since 2007) - of course you have many more so YMMV.
maybe the high priced ones are easier on RW?

I have had issues with CraigsList - and decided it was not worth my while to deal with the scammers.

If not RW or CL - then where? others I have used (including TUG) have little to no contact - or just looking for exchanges.

Expensive timeshares rent well on Redweek. Inexpensive timeshares rent well on Craigslist.

eBay classifies is another possibility but I don't know what response you'll get. I "sold" a summer week in Fla using them. It is free to use,

I used to use vacationtimesharerentals.com a lot. The basic listing is free, but there are quite a few hoops to jump through. e.g. you are forced to enter a minimum amount of text to describe General, Resort, Unit, Attractions, and Restaurants. Each email address gives you five free listings. However lately, they do not remove the inactive listings (finished, inactive, expired, etc) so basically force you to pay. A round-about way is to use a different email address but this does not always work. Maybe they also track the IP address?

MyResortNetwork.com is another available and affordable option on which to advertise resales or rentals. I successfully sold off a few weeks via that site when we downsized the timeshare "portfolio" a few years ago, but RedWeek was frankly a much better performer, with fewer "tire kickers" and more knowledgeable buyers.
However, MRN has character / space limits on the info you can provide in an ad, requiring unnecessary and repetitive questions to be answered on basic details.

I've never considered using CraigsList (and never will). Even if "free", I have neither time nor patience for would-be scammers; my time is too valuable to me.

We don't rent out any of our weeks except on rare occasions, but have easily and successfully done so at least once via MRN and several times via RW.

I have been using the new format for at least 6 months perhaps 8 months or more. I got used to it pretty quickly and now I prefer it.

I've also always had great success using RW for my MX holiday weeks.
However, this year I was pleasantly surprised to have my unit rent out very quickly on myresortnetwork.

LisaH and Theo - I have posted on both w/ little activity. I find RW the cleanest and easiest to use (so far) - I only have 3 rentals per year (Westin Kierland Plat+, and OF studio at Westin Ka'anapali) - and both have rented easily.

It took some "getting used to."

Is it user friendly? At first, I did not think so. Maybe RW has made some adjustments since it first unveiled or maybe I'm getting used to it. (I used them a lot this year as a renter and a rentee.)

I think Redweek might be interested in this thread, so I'm going to post feedback. 1. When I click on "Find a Timeshare", it has a drop down menu that leads to Rentals, Sales and Browse by Region. If I want to rent, I click on that. But then, I need to type in the location by name or region. I would suggest they include a large alternative link for "Browse by Region" in the Rental section.
2. When I was trying to find a rental, I found it difficult to browse the specific days I needed. I wanted to do a broad search for specific days. I could search by city and in some cases like "Greater Myrtle Beach", I could search more broadly. I would like the ability to create a search for units within the time frame of August 15-22 in all of California, for example. Not only would this benefit the renter, making it easier to navigate the available units, it would benefit the owners. A potential renter might see an available unit in a location that is close to where they want to go-- a unit that might not have been their first choice, but based on the dates, works.
My high-end prime weeks rent well through RW because people who want those resorts seek out those resorts specifically. My other weeks do not get as much traffic. I believe this is because potential renters do not see all their options. If a renter could put in a California coastal search for August 15-22, they might see 10 resorts available. Now, instead of searching Carlsbad, they might see availability in Oceanside for half the cost. A moderately rated resort like Aquamarine Villas would be presented as an option... and when the potential renter sees the price, they might bite.

I agree. I was worried the additional graphics would slow the system down. So far so good.
