Recent Westin Nanea developer offer

Are there any true advantages to buying directly from vistana? Recently attended a Nanea presentation which was more compelling than previous offers, but we ultimately declined and are trying to figure out if that was a good move.

You can probably do much better, but it also depends on a few things. Nanea is one of 3 Vistana properties at Ka’anapali & the only one where the options don’t transfer with resale (the options allow owners to exchange to other Vistana resorts within the system), so there is little or no resale value in Nanea. If you’re set on Hawaii you can purchase a resale for much less at one of the other 2 Properties: WKORV or WKORVN and if you’re flexible with dates you should be able to use the options to stay at Nanea (or any other Vistana properties ). Personally I prefer WKORV and WKORVN over Nanea because there are too many bad rooms at Nanea. If you’re set on only staying only at Nanea during specific weeks and only want a 3 bedroom, then you might want to look at resale before considering buying a developer unit. But definitely search the Vistana section of this site for “Nanea” and do a lot of research before buying!
