Just got home from our 4 night stay at the Vistana Villages SPA Resort. Overall we had a very nice time and enjoyed our first use of our new timeshare. Thanks TUG. We are previous Disney owners which I believe is top notch. I did not expect the Vistana Resort to be as upscale but the facility and 2 bedroom condo were in good shape and had nice furnishings. It looked as though it might have been recently updated i.e. fresh paint, window treatments etc.

We did get roped into an Owners Meeting ...NOT... But after reading several comments on Tug it was apparent it would be a sales presentation - Even though I told them we were new owners and this was our first visit. I was able to cancel our appointment but they did not hesitate to remind us they expected us to reimburse the $100 credit and the cost of two light laser toys. They charged our credit card before we got home.

I'm not complaining just posting a review. Warm Regards, Joyce

Glad you had a good time! You actually stayed at Sheraton Vistana RESORT in the Spas phase - this is a completely different resort, in a different location from Sheraton Vistana VILLAGES.

(Very similar names - both Starwood resorts - confusing.)

The entire resort has been completely renovated - the interiors were completely remodeled and redecorated.

ALL owner's updates are sales presentations - all of them.

Was this a 4 day preview pkg. that included a sales presentation, or did you sign up after you got there?

Using new timeshare for the first time

We actually booked the timeshare with star options that came with our most recent purchase. We purchased a 2 bedroom at Bella but Vistana Spa Resort had availability for the dates we needed. I knew it was a different resort but assumed probably very similar to Bella.

The staff at the resort planned the Owners Meeting after our arrival. I was suspect from the beginning but let them make the arrangements as they were insistent it was only an Owners Meeting and not a sales presentation. After I cancelled, A sales rep called on the last day to see if we could set aside some time before we left. I explained that we were new owners and this was our first usage and I was disappointed in their misleading approach. Obviously, as new owners we had no plans to purchase anything else in the immediate future.

I did not get into the fact that we bought our resale through TUG. Maybe if I had they would not have been so pushy/misleading.

I think they would have been MORE pushy. How are they going to make you understand your resale points are worthless and that your salvation is buying from them, if they can't get you seated in front of them?

Every time you visit a timeshare resort, you will be offered a timeshare presentation - it's best to say no right up front, and then unplug the phone in your unit. Friends and family will call your cell phone.

Actually when you tell them you are a member of Tug the color drains from their faces and they hastily get up and go get a supervisor to put a brief lame effort at a sales pitch and offer an explorer package then they leave you at the table for about 20 to 30 minutes before they bring out the voucher so you can collect the monetary reward pusualy promised for attending then the next year when you check in they don't even ask you if you want the owners update or call your room to ask you to book a presentation!!....:whoopie::clap::cheer::
