Yes, he did mention the large increase in costs, but did not connect that to an impact on MF or the need for Special Assessment.

The communication from the board about the increases and special assessment is laughable. Then having the annual meeting as in person only right after this is another insult. I'm very tempted to make a board run and attend the annual meeting to express my extreme displeasure at the insulting lack of communications leading up to the Special Assessment.
