Using the online feature on the e-Fairfield website for the 1st time, I attempted the "RCI Visible Online Deposit Request". I received the below e-mail reply:

"Thank you for your request. Currently we have no red studios available for visible online deposit with RCI. If you would like a regular RCI deposit, please contact Vacation Planning at 800.251.8736."

Upon inquiring with a FF VC I was told RCI has a 'yearly' maximum on the number of allowed online request from FF (or others??). While I request this each year at this same time, I was advised that I would have to wait until January 2006 or of course take a regular deposited week. So does this mean my lucky 'online week' Angel has been with me all of this time and I didn't even know, please let me know if I owe her alot of pastdue THANK YOUs or otherwise...

I truly attempted to find this info on the boards...maybe just to blinded to see  . Please know  is of course not meant to you Madge!

debs,

Fairfield provides members with special RCI deposits that will most closely match what they plan to request using the Fairfield points available. There is then a reconciliation process in place between RCI and Fairfield to account for the Fairfield inventory behind the special deposits used for the exchange vacations.

I will see what more I can find out about any limitations, imposed by RCI or Fairfield, with regard to actual one-for-one deposited weeks.

Madge-

Thanks for this explanation. The FF VC implied FF had reached their limit of visible online deposits with RCI for the remainder of the year and her explanation also didn't appear to be membership specific. Now I'm wondering if I'm one of few or many that has experienced a response of this nature

Either way, your endeavor to seek additional info is greatly appreciated and I Thank You in advance! ;)

Hi Debs,

As I suspected, there is no "limit" per se imposed by RCI. However, there are only a certain number of units that can be specifically assigned for deposit with RCI directly. This may be what the Fairfield reps were referring to.

Fairfield provides special RCI deposits to its FairShare Plus members that will carry Trading Power appropriate to what they plan to request for exchange. Fairfield then provides the correct inventory to RCI behind-the-scenes. Because of this obligation, there is only so much inventory available to be assigned to owners in the form of specific exchange deposits. RCI doesn't impose a "limit" on these; however, Fairfield may simply not have sufficient inventory remaining for the year to assign any more specific weeks for deposit with RCI. If you know that you prefer to have actual resort deposits, it is best to get your request to Fairfield in early.
