Hi all, new TS owner with a couple questions.

We just bought our first TS deed (Wyndham Grand Desert :cheer: ) and I know when we trade into/with RCI we will trade with points, but we noticed, while researching our options, that some of the resort pages have an RCI points chart linked with them (off to the left where the week breakdown is posted). Are those the number of points it would actually "cost" once the week is reserved or are those just for RCI point account holders?

TIA

Points Are Points -- But Points Are Not All Created Equal.

The timeshare companies & timeshare exchange organizations could have started using exchange-point values that are all equivalent with one another, but that would have been Too Simple.

Instead, timeshare point values vary all over the place & only a handful of truly dedicated TUG-types know all the equivalency conversion factors by heart.

Bottom line is that Wyndham FairShare Plus timeshare points are not necessarily 1-for-1 equal to RCI Points & vice versa -- never mind that Wyndham Timeshares & RCI Points are both links in the same corporate chain.

Go figure.

We sure are learning that.

If we're talking just WYN/FSP to RCI, are the points needed just based on unit size across the board or will they vary from resort to resort, assuming the reservation is already confirmed?/

when using RCI nitely stays with your Wyndham points, the # of points is in the Wyndham book, and does not vary by resort .

Thanks jercal, we saw that too when we were looking at the Wyndham book online. Seems like a good way to try out new vacation spots.
