I have a points account which is renewed until 4/2010. I put a search on in my free corresponding weeks account for June 2010 (and paid the exchange/search fee--and my weeks account lists the ongoing search). Question: will RCI confirm an exchange that is past my renewal date? Is the fact that the search is in the system a fluke b/c it is a corresponding weeks account?
I was hoping for a "deal" before renewing---but I don't want to lose my place in the queue by not renewing---advise from anyone in the know?? thanks, Elaine

In my experience on the Weeks side, the answer is "no." RCI will not search or confirm beyond your membership expiration date. However, it appears that the current search engine allowed you to place an ongoing search for a date beyond your membership, so maybe things are different now with the new RCI search engine. Or maybe Points accounts get better treatment.

It actually depends. My RCI account is now tied to my recently acquired FSP account w/ Wyndham. As such, Wyndham now does my annual RCI renewal in October of each year. So right now, I'm paid up through 10/31/09 but I too have some banked weeks that go beyond that, two into 2011.

In trying to do my Hawaii exchange yesterday for 2010, I ran into the same problem you mention Elaine. I called the RCI/FSP department and they were able to take care of making my exchange for me over the phone . . . and because it had to be done that way (rather than online) they didn't charge me more than the standard $164 for the exchange.

Is your points account RCI points or FSP . . . or something else? Hopefully you will be able to work through the challenge w/o incurring extra hassle or expense.
