I received an email from RCI, inviting me to renew my membership, which expires in about 18 months. Their "deal" is three years for the price of two, or five years for the price of three. Doesn't sound like all that great a deal to me, considering all the other upcharges they throw at me whenever I use them.

What do you think? Is it worth it? Do they ever offer "better" deals? As it get closer to my membership expiring, will they get more generous with their discounts? I'm leaning toward not renewing at all, but if the offers get low enough, I may stay in just for the Extra Vacations and such.

At RCI weeks site, there is a link on lower left corner that say RCI anniversary renewal special. I took up on the offer to renewal for 5 years at the cost of $267 the saving of $178.

Vincent.

I like to add that if you have a small Wyndham points package at one of the RCI resort, you get a weeks account for free.

Hmmm...that box doesn't seem to exist on my points page.

I did however just received an e-mail offer, 3 years renewal for $285 through the end of the month.

I wonder why the different offers?

The box in the lower right corner is in my 'weeks' account. I did 'not' see it in my points account. The special offer is different 'none' on points.

I wonder about the email sent to me was from points or weeks?
I didn't see it on the points page and the weeks special pricing was different.

Vincent.

The quotes I'm asking about I saw under a Renew option on the My Account tab for my Weeks login. The rates quoted were:

Number of Years Total Renewal Amount * Savings **
10-year rate paid through 6/2020 $669.00 YOU SAVE $221.00
5-year rate paid through 6/2015 $267.00 YOU SAVE $178.00
4-year rate paid through 6/2014 $266.00 YOU SAVE $90.00
3-year rate paid through 6/2013 $178.00 YOU SAVE $89.00
2-year rate paid through 6/2012 $159.00 YOU SAVE $19.00
1-year rate paid through 6/2011 $89.00 YOU SAVE $0.00

So I want to know if these numbers are as good as I'm likely to see?

It would appear that weeks and points are actually two different systems within RCI. On the weeks side you can renew on-line and it's less expensive. On the points side you can't renew on-line and it costs more.

I can't explain why this is...only that there are some distinct differences.

Here's the text from their website:

How to renew online
Weeks Members:

To renew online, go to www.rci.com, enter your username and password, and click on "Weeks Sign In."
If you have not yet created a username and password, please click on the "Register Now" link and complete the two-step process for RCI Weeks. Please also note the username and password are case sensitive.

The option to renew is located under the "My Account" tab. Scroll to find the membership package you wish to purchase and click on "Renew." From there, enter your payment information and click on "Continue." Click on this button only once. If you are unsure whether your renewal was processed, simply click on "renew your subscribing membership" at the top of the page to check the date your subscription is paid through.

The current renewal fees are as follows:

1 Year - $89 USD; $94 CD
2 Years - $159 USD; $168 CD
3 Years - $229 USD; $242 CD
4 Years - $289 USD; $305 CD
5 Years - $349 USD; $368 CD

If you prefer, we have other ways of renewing your account. Secure online forms are available online by clicking on The Answer Place tab and then on the "Transactional Forms" link at the top of the page. Then select the "Renew Your Subscribing Membership" option.

Since RCI does not "bill", you may also renew by sending a check or money order to PO Box 80229, Indianapolis, IN 46280-0229. Of course, RCI Guides are available by telephone at 800/338-7777.

Points Members:

RCI Points members can verify Use Years, check beginning and current points balances, view year-to-date transactions and more at our website. If your annual renewal is currently due or any other invoice shows due on your account, you may pay that amount when confirming a vacation online.

Currently, it is not possible to purchase multiple-year renewals online. If you are not confirming a vacation online, or if you would like to save money on your fees by purchasing a discounted, multiple-year membership, please call 877/968-7476. An RCI Points Vacation Guide will be happy to assist you.

The current RCI Points renewal fees are as follows:

1 year: $124 USD/$131 CD
2 year: $229 USD/$242 CD
3 year: $319 USD/$337 CD
4 year: $409 USD/$432 CD
5 year: $499 USD/$527 CD

You may also renew your RCI Points membership by sending a check or money order to PO Box 80229, Indianapolis, IN 46280-0229.
