Spotted today:

TWCC - Grenadines #5206 -- Gold Crown
TWCC - Antigua #6850 -- Silver Crown
TWCC - British Virgin Islands #6068 -- Hospitality

As far as I can tell from the descriptions and the photos, these three use pretty much the same type of sailboat, offer the same food and activities, etc. but have three different ratings.

Does this make any sense?

Historically, Canaltime in the UK has had the same situation. Same boats, different canals, different ratings.

Well these RCI rating are based on RCI Comment Cards. No matter what happens people tie the weather, the scenery, their ship mates, the ports, the blah blah blah. What ever it happens to be with any timeshare location. All of that gets reflected in the rating, even though you rate the resort seperately from the location.

So obvious some TWCC locations are getting higher scores than others. But you are correct they are basically the same product.

Probably part of the problem here is that these boats are very small, so only a relatively small number of RCI exchangers use each of them each year. With only a small number of people rating a particular "resort" (or boat, in this case), even one bad rating can have a big impact on qualification for Gold or Silver Crown status.

It is a product that some LOVE and others not so much. We have been on a sail when the other boat had one os those "not so much" types on board.

This is not a trip for those clothes hounds that like to change 2 -3 times a day, do your hair and makeup before showing your face in the morning, and just don't relax well. No phone, no tv, no newspaper, no connectivity. For those 24/7 constant over load types, this is like a week in jail.

This is a place where you get to shed all of that a just relax for a week.

So it is a LOVE IT or Won't do that again rating. I think perhaps more extremes show up in Antigua, St Martin and BVI as those are easier locations to fly to. While for St Vicent and the Grenadines you really have to want to get there as it is not an easy place to fly to. The people at that destination are more inclined to know what they are getting into.

Just my opinion and observation.

Collective comments make sense.

Thanks to all for your thoughts!
