Not sure if I’m posting in the correct thread or not
But I have two weeks booked in Hawaii this fall over thanksgiving
I own HICV and transferred points to book Kohala Suites Unser the 1-4 rule

We may have to cancel this trip due to our daughter recently planning her wedding around the same time

Can we bank this with RCI and use somewhere else? Or just change the dates to next year?
We have contacted RCI and they are not sure how to do this. Or at least the person we talked to so they are going to look into it

Just thought I would see if anyone here knows our options

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
If you need to cancel you would lose the exchange fee. You would get back a % of the points you used. It may still be 90%. If you click on cancel, it won't actually cancel it will take you to the next screen where it will tell you what you lose and then ask you to confirm the cancel if you still want to. If you click no or just back out nothing will be cancelled. The points should remain in RCI. I believe you would have 2 years from the date you originally made the reservation to use the points. So if you transferred the points in April 2019 to make the reservation, the points would expire April 2021. (it may be 2 years from the date of the exchange check in but I think it is from when you booked).

Please see RCI cancelation policy for our HICV/RCI accounts in this post: https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/making-the-best-of-hicv.298468/post-2380579

Link is not working in tapatalk. So here it is in case you are unable to see.

"To change a vacation that is confirmed, it will be subject to the cancel policy communicated to you during the confirmation process, if any changes are made. The cancellation policy is presented in the confirmation process and can be reviewed in the “Book with Confidence” section of the Transactional Summary located on the bottom right side of the page, or in step 2 of the confirmation process by clicking on “View Grace Period and Cancellation Policy”.

Upon booking a vacation, you have until close of business next day to change or cancel a vacation without penalty unless the travel dates being confirmed are less than three days away. After that, the exchange fee is non-refundable. Your RCI Points may be lost up to 75%, depending on when cancellation occurs."

When canceling a Points reservation, you can use the following RCI Points Adjustment Schedule to figure out how many points you will receive back:
120 days or greater to the check-in date…...keep 100%
119 to 61 days to the check-in date………......lose 25%
60 to 30 days to the check-in date ……….....…lose 50%
29 days or less to the check-in date ……....….lose 75%
