Hi Madge,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in RCI Points Standard Reservations, I believe there is no "Hold" function. In RCI Points Weeks Reservations you can put a unit on hold. Why the difference?

I saw a week in Standard Reservations that I wanted this morning. I didn't want to confirm it online because I have points that will expire this year and I wanted to extend them in conjunction with the transaction so I would get the reduced fee. In the two minutes it took me to dial the RCI number and wade through the various prompts, the week was apparently taken by someone else.

I know these things happen, but I was a bit disappointed. I would have definitely put it on hold, but I believe I tried that once and that was not an option. I ask the VC if that were the case and she also confirmed it.

That's my little gripe for the day. :crash: Thanks for listening.

Sheila

You could confirm and then cancel.

As long as you are outside 21 days of checkin you have 24 hours to cancel a confirmation.

Sheila,

It's a systems issue mainly. However, as cclendinen suggests, there is most often a grace period when you make a Points reservation, during which you can cancel without penalty. This may help in situations where you are fairly certain but still want a short window to change your mind.
