RCI points rollover

Bought timeshare at Vacation Village Parkway in February, 2014. 74,000 points every odd year, plus 74,000 points transferred with unit. Used some of the transferred points this year, but 31,000 will expire, never to be able to be used; sad, but I'm ok with that.

As to the 74000 from this year (placed in my account in February, 2015), I have a few questions:

1. Is there a cost to roll them over?
2. If there is a cost, how much is it, and do i need to contact RCI to do the roll over, or is done automatically, and I just have to pay a fee later? Also, would I have to contact them before expiration?

I talked to CS at RCI on two occasions about 3 months apart, and got 2 different answers. Also, when I go online and do a search, and go through the process of booking during my next use year, it shows no fee for saving my points, for use next year, even though one guy said there would be a $26.00 fee.

If you can't tell, I'm lost.

If you are booking something now into a future year, there is no fee to roll the points over. If you have used any of the 74,000 points they will roll over without any fee. If you haven't used any of the 74,000 and the use year is over then there is fee to save them.

MANAGING YOUR POINTS
USD
Points Saving Fee $26
Points Extension Fee
Less than 30,000 Points $75
Points Extension Fee
30,000 Points and above $115

So in your case it may be $26. If you wanted to save the expiring points (which would have been 2013 points) then it would be $75 or $115 depending on the points.

77,000 RCI points (Sunrise Ridge Resort, TN)
We have a few (8,000) points leftover that will expire in May 2016 (already paid to extend them once, but couldn't use all of them).

My question is; do I need to use (book & travel) those points by the end of use time frame (May 31, 2016) or can I just use them to book something before they expire, but with a check-in date beyond May 31st?

TIA,

~Diane

I believe you have to book and travel by that date. Anything else would be pulling them into another use year which you can not do if you have already extended them once.

Yes you are correct! Thanks! I also found the same answer in searching the RCI website. I guess we'll have to make quick trip somewhere nearby (<12hrs drive) when we get home from our winter in Belize!
