Can they be sold (I haven't used them, and we're even considering selling the week and accompanying points). So I've got some expiring then, some that can be extended, and the upcoming year's use that will come in then. If I sell them (and I don't even know how), I want to ensure a buyer would have 'full' access...so they don't pay for something they won't have time to use.

(We're keeping 2 weeks of the 4 we currently have as we actively use them, but never traded...and looking for a 3rd just before the earlier week, so we can extend vacation by a few days or a week).

Thanks!

Surprised no other comments yet.
It appears that the RCI policy is that you can transfer your points to someone, but you cannot actually "Sell" them.

If you did transfer them it does not appear that the expiration date would be extended. So the person receiving them would need to use them before they expire.

not an answer to this question but I recently read a post on a Bluegreen facebook page that claims RCI told the inquirer that they could charge fees to someone for all their expenses including maintenance fees, exchange fee, and guest certificate on an RCI exchange they had booked. Has their policy changed?

That's not unusual to get incorrect information from the front line folks at RCI. I've used someone else's credit card to pay for a guess certificate and exchange fee and I believe that's not frowned upon. But charging for maintenance fees, if they found out, I think would be a no no. But there have been numerous occasions where folks have reported they've been told by vacation guides or whatever they call themselves these days that it was fine to rent out an exchange with a guest certificate.

Of course, RCI is not going to hunt you down if you do a once-in-a-while private rental of an exchange, frankly, if it's kept discreet and you don't have a renter ranting about "paying good money to be here," etc., that outs the fact you've rented. Really, when they talk about "commercial use of exchanges" or whatever the lingo is in the T and C, they're just making sure that any money on the table from exchanges goes in their pocket, not their customers.
