Hi Tuggers,

I have the exchange grid for points to time value, but I don't have a clear picture of what other things can be purchased with RCI points. I have heard that airfare, auto rental, Disney tickets can be obtained for points.

What I would like to get from the vets here is :

1. A list of things that Points can buy
2. An exchange grid showing the point costs for an item.

I posted a similar thread for Madge on RCI points and she didn't have anything to give. It seems, even for RCI, rather strange to have no list of partners or costs for things points can buy.

Any and all info greatly appreciated.

Bill

Thanks and a followon

Joe,

Thanks a bunch.

I understand that there is a $26 fee to deposit per deposit. I believe that the exchange fee is 149 which is the same as exchanging for booked time. Would that fee be per unit or per order. Say I wanted to purchase 4 tickets would it be 149 per or 149 for the entire order? If I were to order air, a car and disney tickets at the same time would it be 149 for each of the ticket types or 149 again for the whole order.

Just trying to identify if points would be a wise use for anything other than booking resort time.

The $149 fee is only for timeshare trades. The Points Partner transactions are $49 each. The last time I used points for spring break airfare to Mexico, I paid 65k points plus $49 per ticket. Since my points come pretty cheaply the cost per ticket (counting only underlying MF plus transaction cost) were a bit over $400 each. That beat the Expedia fare by $150 or so.

Joe,

Thanks for the update. The $49 per item purchased is much better than the $149 I anticipated. Also, thanks again for the list of items to buy.
