RCI Platinum Membership doesn't deliver promised benefits

I just posted a thread about problems I am having with RCI Points Partners. However, I also want to comment about my RCI Platinum membership. I've started a new thread because probably many TUG members are eligible for RCI Platinum, but probably don't use Points Partners.

I have tried to use the benefits of my RCI Platinum membership twice now, and both times RCI has failed to deliver.

RCI Platinum members are supposed to get a $25 rebate on the fee for combining deposits in RCI Weeks. I paid the fee for combining deposits back in August, but never got my rebate. I called a few weeks ago and was promised the $25 would be deposited in my account, but it still hasn't happened.

Now, I've tried to use the "extra" Points Partners allocation for Platinum members, and that doesn't work, either. (Platinum members are entitled to use 50% of their points for Points Partners, while regular members can use 33%.)

I'm not sure if RCI is doing this deliberately, or is just incompetent.

Anyone up for another class action suit?

Maybe your account is not setup correctly. I think I received all rebates without any hassle, never combined though, used extra vacation and guest certificate.

And in their "Priority Access" they have exactly one resort in the U.S.A. Just one.

When it finally gets into your account (which took many calls including to supervisors and a few months in my case), it turns out it's not visible to you online. You need to call to see whether a VC can see it.

The only way you can see it yourself is pretend you're gonna confirm something, and it asks you whether you want to use it (whatever they call it) tho the default is to pay the full amount with a cc, and it shows up in a different place from where you're inputting your payment details so very easy to miss. I think it showed up in the lower right-hand corner of my screen, not positive.) You don't have to complete the transaction to see it. Someone at RCI talked me thru this finally, when I was still believing and insisting I'd never received the credit.

They don't disclose how long this "rebate" takes (at least a month), nor what you have to do to know whether you've ever received it - which is deceptive - and the benefits are slim. More trouble than it's worth IMO, and unless they load a lot more attractive-to-me exchange possibilities, I don't plan to rejoin.

I know I received my rebates for combining initially (showed up in my account as a credit), but I haven't seen any lately. I wonder if the recent enhancements broke it?

UPDATE: Just looked again. It doesn't show up in my balance, but if I try to make a transaction the rebates show (and are applied) as "RCI Member Dollars® Credits".
