Hi, I guess its changed. I thought you had to pay up front to do an ongoing search without Platinum.

As a non-platinum RCI member, you have to pay up front to set up an OGS if you do that from the beginning. However, if you do a search for a specific resort/location/timeframe that results in no availabilities, you can set up an OGS and don't have to pay up front.

Thats one of the loopholes. With what you suggest you can accomplish the exact same thing. One cost $$ the other is free.

I assume if one is primarily trying to get DVC trades then platinum is worth it for the priority access?

Yes that would be correct. Have in mind though, that at least some DVC priority access rooms are listed at 85.000 points and not the old maximum of 68.000
